DESPORTO EM NÚMEROS \ 31 FINANCIAMENTO PÚBLICO DAS ATIVIDADES DESPORTIVAS | PUBLIC FINANCING OF SPORTS ACTIVITIES > Em 2020, as Câmaras Municipais afetaram 301,0 milhões de euros às Atividades e equipamentos desportivos (menos 6,0% do que em 2019), representando 3,4% do total da despesa dos Municípios. A despesa média por habitante em Atividades e equipamentos desportivos no total das autarquias foi 29,2 euros, tendo-se destacado as regiões do Algarve (57,3 euros) e do Alentejo (42,9 euros). Pelo contrário, a Região Autónoma da Madeira e a Área Metropolitana de Lisboa registaram valores inferiores à média nacional (9,9 euros e 19,3 euros respetivamente). Em 2020, o financiamento do Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude às Federações desportivas atingiu 40,8 milhões de euros (menos 11,1% do que no ano anterior). O Apoio às Atividades desportivas destacou-se com 53,5% do total do financiamento, superando a Alta competição (38,3%). In 2020, Local Governments’ expenditure on activities and sports infrastructures reached 301.0 million euros (6.0% less than in 2019), which represented 3.4% of total Municipalities’ expenditure. The average expenditure in activities and sports infrastructures of municipalities per inhabitant was 29.2 euros, standing out the regions of Algarve (57.3 euros) and Alentejo (42.9 euros). On the contrary, the Região Autónoma da Madeira and Área Metropolitana de Lisboa registered values below the national average (9.9 euros and 19.3 euros, respectively). In 2020, the financing of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth to the Sports federations reached 40.8 million euros (11.1% less than in the previous year). Support to Sports activities stood out with 53.5% of the total financing, surpassing High competition sport (38.3%).
