O encontro, presidido pela Co-Chair do Steering Group, Ana Carmen Vinuesa, centrou-se na monitorização do desenvolvimento sustentável, com foco crescente nas métricas “Beyond GDP” e no papel do grupo no período pós-2030. A participação do INE, assegurada por Carolina Fresta Santos, do Serviço de Relações Externas e Cooperação, destaca-se pela copresidência, com o INE da Polónia (Olga ŚwierkotStrużewska) da Task Team on Communication (TTCOM). • Foram destacados os resultados dos encontros temáticos (fortnights) de 2025 da TTCOM e o contributo desta equipa para o capítulo sobre Comunicação do Progresso, no âmbito da nova adenda ao Roteiro de Estatísticas sobre os ODS. • As Co-Chairs da TTCOM serão também moderadoras de um painel sobre Comunicação ao abrigo da Expert Meeting on Statistics for SDGs da UNECE, prevista para abril de 2026. Outros temas-chave: • O trabalho em curso da Task Team on Progress Measurement (TTPM), presidida por Mary Smyth (INE da Irlanda), que tem como objetivo a redação de uma adenda ao Roteiro, que providencie orientação prática e metodológica para medir e comunicar o progresso dos ODS. • A necessidade de ser atribuído aos INEs um forte mandato de coordenação da monitorização estatística do desenvolvimento pós-2030, à semelhança do papel que lhes foi reconhecido no âmbito do acompanhamento estatístico dos ODS. On 17 and 18 September 2025, Statistics Portugal participated in the annual meeting of the Conference of European Statisticians (CES) Steering Group on Statistics for SDGs (UNECE), hosted by Statistics Spain at its headquarters in Madrid. The meeting, presided over by the Steering Group Co-Chair Ana Carmen Vinuesa, focused on monitoring sustainable development, with a growing emphasis on “Beyond GDP” metrics and the group’s role in the post-2030 period. Statistics Portugal’s participation, ensured by Carolina Fresta Santos from the External Relations and Cooperation Unit, was highlighted by the co-chairmanship of the Task Team on Communication (TTCOM), alongside Statistics Poland (Olga Świerkot-Strużewska). • The results of the TTCOM’s 2025 communication fortnights were highlighted, and the team’s contribution to the chapter on Progress Communication within the new Addendum to the Roadmap on Statistics for SDGs was noted. • The TTCOM Co-Chairs will also moderate a panel on Communication at the UNECE Expert Meeting on Statistics for SDGs, scheduled for April 2026. Other Central Topics: • A key focus was the ongoing work of the Task Team on Progress Measurement (TTPM), chaired by Mary Smyth (CSO Ireland), which aims to draft an Addendum to the Roadmap providing practical and methodological guidance for measuring and communicating SDG progress. • The group further stressed the need for NSOs (National Statistical Offices) to be given a strong mandate to coordinate post-2030 statistical monitoring, similar to the role acknowledged in the statistical follow-up of the SDGs.
