COOPSTAT NEWS Nº 17 5 2nd Expert Meeting on statistics for SDGs Nos dias 18 e 19 de abril, técnicos de todos os INEs da CPLP participaram na “2nd Expert Meeting on statistics for SDGs” , promovida pela UNECE. Este evento reúne, na sede das Nações Unidas em Genebra, representantes dos Institutos de Estatística dos Estados-Membros da UNECE e de múltiplas agências internacionais, que partilham os últimos desenvolvimentos em matéria de monitorização dos ODS e procuram chegar a acordo sobre melhores práticas e roteiros a seguir neste âmbito. Nesta segunda ”Expert Meeting”, o INE de Portugal promoveu a participação dos seus homólogos da CPLP (países externos à UNECE), tendo beneficiado de caloroso acolhimento da parte da UNECE, bem como de manifesto apoio e incentivo da parte do Secretariado Executivo da CPLP. Esta ação veio concluir o 1º programa da CPLP sobre capacitação estatística que, desde 2012, tem reunido os Estados-membros desta Comunidade, com vista ao desenvolvimento dos respetivos Sistemas Estatísticos Nacionais. On 18 and 19 April, experts from all the CPLP NSIs attended the 2nd Expert Meeting on statistics for SDGs, promoted by UNECE. This event, taking place at the UN Headquarters in Geneva, gathers representatives from NSIs of the UNECE Member States and from several international agencies in a sharing platform where the latest developments in SDG monitoring are highlighted and the participants seek consensus on best practices and potential roadmaps for this domain. In this second ExpertMeeting, Statistics Portugal promoted the participation of its CPLP counterparts (non-UNECE Member States), having received a warm welcome by the UNECE, as well as the clear support and encouragement from the CPLP Executive Secretariat. This action completes the first CPLP statistical training programme that has brought together the Member States of this Community since 2012, with a view to developing their National Statistical Systems.
