2022 Edition 4 MONTHLY STATISTICAL BULLETIN Industrial Production registers a year-on-year rate of change of -3.2% In January 2022, year-on-year: • The Industrial Production Index (IPI) registered a rate of change of -3.2% (0.8% in the previous month), a result largely determined by the strong contraction in energy production and car manufacturing; • Excluding Energy and Investment, the rate of change concerning the IPI was 1.8% (2.4% in December); • The rate of change in Manufacturing industry stood at -1.7% (1.6% in the previous month); • Themajor industrial groupings thatmakeup the IPI registered disparate developments.
