Concepts
  • REFERENCE PERIOD:  The length of time for which data are collected, e.g. a specific day, month or year.
  • GROSS VALUE ADDED:  Corresponds to the balancing item of the production account, where output is recorded as a resource and intermediate consumption is recorded as a use (before consumption of fixed capital). Value added is economically significant for both the institutional sectors and the industries. GVA is valued at basic prices, i.e. it does not include taxes less subsidies on production.
