Concepts
  • MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE SYSTEM:  A set of components with the function of removing, deploying in the field and processing waste produced by the population of 1 or more settlements. A complete waste collection system comprises: placement in the street, collection circuit and transport to landfill, final destination.
  • URBAN SOLID WASTEMANAGEMENT:  Comprises the collection, transport, treatment, recovery and disposal of waste, including self-monitoring of these operations and the safety of disposal sites after being closed.
