Gross Domestic Product increased 1.4% - 3rd Quarter 2010

Summary
In the 3rd quarter 2010, GDP increased 1.4% in real terms compared with the same period of 2009 (similar change rate in the previous quarter). The contribution of net external demand to GDP year on year change rate was positive, with Exports of Goods and Services registering a strong growth while Imports of Goods and Services decelerated markedly. The contribution of domestic demand was negative in the 3rd quarter 2010, reflecting the strong year on year reduction of the Investment and the deceleration of private consumption. Comparing with the 2nd quarter 2010, Portuguese GDP increased by 0.3%.
