Summary
Production in the construction and public works sector declined by 6.6% in the quarter ending in July 2006, compared with the same quarter of the previous year. This change represents, however, an easing of 1.0 percentage points (p.p) vis-à-vis the change observed in the quarter ending in June. Employment and the working volume in construction and public works continued to be negative, with rates of change of -7.4% and -7.5% respectively. In turn, wages grew by 0.5%.
