Summary
In February 2013, the CPI 12-month average rate of change moved from 2.5% in January to 2.2% in February. The core inflation index, which excludes unprocessed food and energy, stood at 1.1% (1.3% in January).
The HICP 12-month average rate decreased to 2.3% (2.5% in the previous month). In January 2013 the gap between the Portuguese and the Euro-area HICP 12-month average rate was 0.1 percentage points (p.p.). In February, with reference to Eurostat's flash estimate for the whole area , it is estimated to have decreased to -0.1 p.p..
