Summary
Enterprises survival rate decreased and their mortality rate increased in Portugal over the period 2004-2010. The upward trend in   creation of enterprises was reverted along the period, although services sector enterprises saw their relative position strengthened. Business sector turnover increased by 18.6%. Companies were responsible for more than 92% of turnover and 75% of persons employed within the non financial sector. Turnover of Individual enterprises in distributive trade sector decreased more than 25%.
