Concepts
  • PERINATAL MORTALITY RATE:  The ratio of the number of foetal deaths of 28 or more weeks of gestation and deaths of live infants aged under 7 days during a specified period of time, usually a calendar year, to the number of live births and stillbirths of 28 or more weeks of gestation in that same period (usually expressed as the number of foetal deaths of 28 or more weeks of gestation and deaths of live infants aged under 7 days per 1,000 (10^3) live births and stillbirths of 28 or more weeks of gestation).
  • REFERENCE PERIOD:  The length of time for which data are collected, e.g. a specific day, month or year.
Formule PMR = [(FD+28(0,t))+D-7d(0,t)/ (LB(0,t)+ FFD28(0,t )]*10^n;

Where: FD+28(0,t) = Foetal deaths of 28 or more weeks of gestation, between the moments 0 and t;
D-7d(0,t) = Deaths of live infants aged under 7 days, between moments 0 and t;
LB(0,t) = Live births between moments 0 and t;
n = 3.
