Annual - Statistics Portugal, Pharmacies statistics | Pharmacy technicians (No.) by Work location (NUTS - 2013); Annual - Statistics Portugal, Health personnel statistics | Medical doctors per 1000 inhabitants (No.) by Place of residence (NUTS - 2013); Annual - Statistics Portugal, Health personnel statistics | Pharmacists (No.) by Work location (NUTS - 2013) and Sex; Annual - Statistics Portugal, Health personnel statistics | Beds (practised allotment) in hospitals per 1000 inhabitants (No.) by Geographic localization (NUTS - 2013); Annual - Statistics Portugal, Hospitals survey | Internments in hospitals per 1000 inhabitants (No.) by Geographic localization (NUTS - 2013); Annual - Statistics Portugal, Hospitals survey | Note(s): | (1) In 2017, the Portuguese Nurses Association made available the online platform "Balcão Único" for dematerialized data recording by its members and launched several awareness campaigns to update the data, namely the data related to the working place, which resulted in relevant differences in the number of nurses in some municipalities and NUTS 3 in relation to 2016. | (2) In June 2019, the Portuguese Dentists Association carried out an awareness campaign to update the data of its members, which resulted in relevant differences in the number of dentists in some municipalities and NUTS 3, in relation to 2018. | (3) The methodology for calculating the data of the "Ordem dos Farmacêuticos" was updated in accordance with the metadata currently provided by this entity to INE: all pharmacists registered as active are considered, regardless of the existence of information about the municipality where the activity is carried out, i.e. data include pharmacists whose municipality of activity is Unknown. | (4) From January 1st, 2015 came into force a new version of NUTS (NUTS 2013). At NUTS II level was just a name change in "Lisboa" which became known as "Área Metropolitana de Lisboa". | (5) There are hospitals whose activity is reported by the respective hospital centre and, therefore, it is not possible to disaggregate them by municipality. In these cases, the criterion adopted is the location of the hospital centre. | (6) Pharmacy technicians and auxiliary technicians registered with the National Union of Pharmacy Professionals and the National Union of Pharmacies and Paramedicals in full use of their trade union rights (that is, with the quotation in order) and who are in the active, retired, unemployed or with medical discharge, are considered. The difference verified between 2015/2016, has an explanation in the fact that, in the previous year, facilities for payment of quotas in arrears were created; there was also a significant increase in the number of first enrollments as associates; characteristics of the software, however altered, influenced the non-accounting of some associates. Between 2012 and 2015, there was a decrease of associates, in some cases linked to the desindication, for socio-economic reasons, in other cases due to insolvencies and early retirements, being the year of 2014 where there were more situations. |
